Jedidiah Duggar Announces Big Family News

The members of the Duggar family are clearly making the most of the holiday season. While cousin Amy Duggar King went over-the-top with her Christmas tradition of giving her son his gifts in the weeks leading up to the 25th, parents Jim Bob and Michelle held an "Ugly Christmas Sweater/Christmas Character" party at their Arkansas home familiar to fans of their former show "19 Kids & Counting." The event was less well attended than in years past since many of the older children have either moved away or are busy with their own families — and of course, oldest son Josh Duggar is spending this Christmas in prison

Another son was definitely looking forward to his parents' party, however. Jedidiah Duggar and his wife, Katey, welcomed their first child, son Truett Oliver, in May 2022. They were understandably eager to show him off to the family in his adorable Rudolph costume, which came complete with little antlers. Jed got into the spirit with a sweater showing a sunglasses-wearing reindeer with holiday lights in his antlers and the caption, "Bro, where's the party?" Katey went a different route, however. Instead of dressing as an elf (as Jed's sister Jana did), or wearing a Grinch shirt (as sister-in-law Abbie did), she ordered a sweatshirt from Etsy. It featured a large globe with a Santa hat, and a simple message: "Joy to the World... oh, & I'm pregnant."

Yep, Jed and Katey are going to have "Irish twins," as Jed joked at the party — two babies born almost exactly a year apart.

Two new Duggar grandchildren might share the same birthday

As they explained in a YouTube video, Jed and Katey Duggar discovered they were expecting again back in mid-September while on a trip to Florida. The couple managed to keep mum for the next few months so they could do their big reveal at the Duggar Christmas bash. They definitely caught everyone by surprise. Jedidiah's mom, Michelle, was so busy cooing over baby Truett that she didn't notice Katey's shirt until it was pointed out to her. "Oh! You're pregnant! What a wonderful Christmas surprise!" Michelle squealed as she hugged her daughter-in-law. Dad Jim Bob laughed and said, "You just had one!" as Jed joked, "We're just trying to keep up with you guys."

The video went on to show Katey and Jed breaking the news to family members who hadn't been able to make it to the party. Among them was Jed's sister Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth, who's expecting a baby boy next spring. Instead of letting a sweatshirt do the talking, Katey took another approach. "Hey, Joy, when's your due date?" she asked. After Joy shared her May 22 date, Katey casually said, "I keep having to remember if mine is the day before or after." Joy was shocked and delighted.

This new arrival will officially be the 28th "GrandDuggar" for Jim Bob and Michelle. However, Duggar fans have been scratching their heads over video footage that appears to show son Josiah with a baby not previously announced on social media.
