Pam Bondi Was All Smiles In Pics Taken Just One Day Before Her Firing
Pam Bondi was ousted from her role as U.S. Attorney General on April 2. It was no secret that Donald Trump had started to sour on Bondi in recent months, particularly after her handling of the release of the Epstein files and numerous political disappointments involving the Department of Justice. Many may have seen this coming, as Bondi has a long history of awkward moments in public and a track record of embarrassing behavior with reporters that allegedly included literally sobbing and begging them not to run damaging stories.
However, it sure looks like Bondi was not among those who saw it coming. Just a day before the die-hard Trump loyalist was sacked, Bondi was spotted smiling broadly while in attendance at Trump's primetime broadcast to the nation on April 1. Bondi took a break from wearing bizarrely inappropriate outfits and instead kept things classy and simple in a tan blazer and matching tan slacks with an off-white blouse. All the while, she appeared to be beaming as she chatted with colleagues in the Cross Hall of the White House.
Bondi wore the smile of a woman with no concerns, and not the look of a person who would soon be booted from her high-ranking job as attorney general. Or, maybe, she looked so pleased because she knew her time in the thankless role would soon be over. Trump announced on Truth Social platform the next day that Bondi will "transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector." He thanked her for her dedication and said she is "a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend."
Pam Bondi seems to be taking her firing in stride
While getting laid off is never easy, it seems Pam Bondi is accepting her fate. While Bondi has had a slew of embarrassing public meltdowns in the past, she seems intent on maintaining a positive outlook, if her public response to getting fired is to be believed. After Donald Trump announced her departure on April 2, Pam Bondi took to X to thank Trump for getting the chance to serve.
"Leading President Trump's historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history," Bondi wrote. "I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again." She also touted several of her accomplishments in the departure post and said she is excited to be moving into the private sector — which will likely make her some real money to maintain her wildly lavish lifestyle. Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will be stepping up to fill the position.
Trump had reportedly been increasingly unhappy with Bondi's performance in the months before her termination. An unnamed source told NBC News the day she was fired that Trump was growing "more and more frustrated" by Bondi's failure to successfully orchestrate the prosecution of his political enemies and that she hadn't "executed on his vision" to his satisfaction. This supposedly led to a verbal confrontation in the White House several days before Trump announced her exit. So it would seem her bright smile just hours before may have been one of imminent relief.
