Kelsey Grammer & His Fourth Wife Have Quite A Significant Age Gap
Some of Kelsey Grammer's most popular characters seem to have one common trait: they can never quite get it right. Sideshow Bob from "The Simpsons," for instance, has famously tried and failed to kill Bart Simpson on numerous occasions. More to the point, the eponymous protagonist of "Frasier" is, in many ways, defined by his slew of failed relationships. Grammer, himself, seemed to be in a similar boat for a while, although he finally found lasting love with fourth wife Kayte Walsh, whom he married in early 2011, mere weeks after his expensive divorce from his third wife, Camille Donatacci, was finalized. At 15 years and counting, Grammer's fourth marriage is also his longest, with he and Walsh sharing the youngest four of the "X-Men" actor's eight children. However, few likely realized Grammer and Walsh have a rather significant age gap between them.
Grammer was born in February 21, 1955, while Walsh was reportedly born on January 7, 1979, per TVOvermind. So, when the two wed on February 25, 2011, Walsh had been 32 years old for just shy of two months, while Grammer had turned 56 just days earlier. As of 2026, Grammer and his fourth wife are now 71 and 47 years old, respectively.
To further put this 24-year gap into perspective, you can simply look at the age difference between Grammer's oldest child — daughter and fellow actor Spencer Grammer — and his youngest. Spencer, whom Grammer shares with first wife Doreen Alderman, was born in October 1983 (when Walsh would have been just shy of 5 years old, by the way). Meanwhile, Grammer and Walsh's youngest child, a son named Christopher, was born In October 2025 — 42 whole years after Spencer.
Kelsey Grammer's secret to a successful (fourth) marriage
Kelsey Grammer opened up about the secret to his successful marriage with fourth wife Kayte Walsh during a May 2025 interview with People. And according to the "Cheers" alum, it's simply a matter of not losing sight of what attracted you to your spouse in the first place. "I always say, 'Love is a contact sport,'" Grammer said, adding, "Once in a while you got to back it up with some action. I just always try to say to myself, 'Remember the blushing that you had when you first met. Remember that energy, that circulation that dialed you up just a little bit.'"
Mind you, the age gap between Grammer and Walsh is hardly the only strange thing about their marriage. There's also the fact that their relationship began when Grammer was still married to third wife Camille Donatacci — something Walsh herself has expressed regret over. "I'm not proud of the way we started out. Because he was in a marriage," she said on "Oprah's Next Chapter" in 2012 (via ABC News). Still, it's clear that Grammer is much happier in his fourth marriage than he was in his third. "Some extremely unacceptable behavior took place in front of the children, which makes it impossible for me to pretend that [Donatacci and I] can try to be civil," the actor said at the time.
While the age difference between Grammer and Walsh is sure to raise an eyebrow or two, one really can't argue with the fact that all parties involved appear to be pleased with how things worked out in the end.
