What You Never Knew About Kaley Cuoco's Sister Briana

For some families, show business is the family business, and Hollywood sure has seen a number of successful sibling duos. Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, Tia Mowry and Tamara Mowry, Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning, and Emily Deschanel and Zooey Deschanel are just a few honorable mentions. Then, of course, if we want to go further back in time, there's Joan Fontaine and Olivia de Havilland, the only siblings to win lead-actor Oscars throughout their careers. 

Fontaine and de Havilland famously feuded for decades. Sisters Kaley Cuoco and Briana Cuoco, on the other hand, are a totally different story. Though Briana's own career hasn't exploded like Kaley's career, they not only aren't competitive with one another, but have always been in one another's corner. As Briana told ET in 2016, she doesn't hold back when internet trolls leave nasty comments about her older sister on social media. "My sister fangs come out," Briana said. "She actually texts me and says, 'Sis, thanks for having my back.'"

Briana Cuoco may not be the star of a beloved long-running sitcom, but she's still managed to carve out an interesting professional career and personal life. Here are some things you may not know about Kaley Cuoco's younger sister.

Briana Cuoco was born on November 29, 1988, in Ventura, California. Her older sister, Kaley Cuoco, was born almost exactly three years earlier on November 30, 1985, in the nearby city of Camarillo. Their mother, Layne Ann Cuoco was a stay-at-home mom, while their father, Gary Cuoco, built a career as a real estate agent. 

While some celebs have had strained relationships with their siblings, Briana and Kaley couldn't be closer. "My sister and my parents, we all have just forever and ever wanted to be rocks and supports for each other," Briana told E! News in 2013. "Kaley is that for me, and I am that for her."

Briana has also shared plenty of photos of her family on social media over the years. In 2020, for instance, she uploaded a couple of pictures to Instagram with Kaley and their parents with the caption, "day 1s." In 2025, she shared some photos of her family celebrating Christmas together, writing, "hope your holiday szn sleighed!!! (im sorry)."

Camarillo, California, is roughly an hour away from the general Los Angeles metropolitan area (that drive time is not set in stone since, you know... traffic). When you grow up relatively close to Hollywood and possess some degree of natural talent, TV spots and magazine ads are one way future actors get their initial foot in the door when they're still children.

This was the case for Briana Cuoco. "I did a lot of print work and commercials as a kid. After my parents realized I also loved to sing, they put me into singing lessons and that transitioned into doing a lot of musical theatre," she told VoyageLA in 2019. "In middle school, I started dancing seriously and throughout high school that became my sole focus."

While Kaley Cuoco's commercials for Barbie and Oscar Mayer have been well documented, it's more difficult to find the ads Briana appeared in when she was a kid. That said, it does look like her most recent spot was a 2014 Kohl's campaign. 

As previously noted, Briana Cuoco got serious about dance at a young age, and her talent and training evidently paid off. After high school, her career as a professional dancer was in full swing. According to her website, she was a backup dancer for Big Time Rush, Ne-Yo, Snoop Dogg, and Pitbull. 

What's more, Cuoco danced on hit TV shows, popping up as a supporting dancer on "Glee" and "America's Got Talent." While she certainly found success as a dancer at a young age, she soon felt drawn to other avenues in the performing arts world. "I quickly realized being a dancer wasn't what I was meant to do, my heart was with singing and acting," Cuoco told VoyageLA. 

Although Cuoco doesn't dance professionally anymore, she did show off her moves in a 2025 Instagram video where she and two other dancers perform a combo to Tate McRae's "Sports Car." "[D]on't really consider myself a dancer anymore but she danced w the girlies today!!!!!!" she wrote. It's more than safe to say she's still got it.

While we know how Kaley Cuoco got her first major TV role, Briana Cuoco's start on the small screen flew under the radar. Briana's first television gig came courtesy of an episode of the horror anthology "The Nightmare Room." She played a girl named Nikki in the episode "Tangled Webs," which aired on October 6, 2001. The ep also featured Justin Berfield, David Carradine, and Steven Border, also known as the professional wrestler Sting. 

Briana's next acting role didn't come until 2012, when she was in her mid-20s: she had a minor role on "The Newsroom," a political drama that ran for three seasons on HBO Max. The main cast included Jeff Daniels, Dev Patel, Emily Mortimer, and Alison Pill.

Briana's sister, Kaley Cuoco, also appeared on "The Nightmare Room," and this was the first time the sisters would be involved in the same project. However, they were not in the same ep: Kaley played Kristin Ferris in the episode "My Name is Evil." 

From 2007 to 2019, "The Big Bang Theory" brought the laughs, the tears, and some truly memorable flash mob moments. The cast and crew performed a total of three surprise dance routines for the live studio audience over the series' run. "It had just been a dream of mine to do a flash mob," Kaley Cuoco told The Paley Center in 2014. "And I said, 'Guess what? You're all doing it with me.'"

While Briana Cuoco only had a super minor role on "The Big Bang Theory," she actually played a huge part in bringing her sister's flash mob vision to life. The show executed flash mobs in 2012, 2014, and 2019, and Briana choreographed all three. "You know who kind of kills it? Mayim [Bialik]. Mayim slays it," Briana gushed to ET in 2019. "Jim [Parsons] had flash cards and would write down all the choreography on flash cards." 

Briana's TV choreography credits don't end there. As she told VoyageLA, she created dance sequences for the sitcoms "Mom," "Two and a Half Men," and "Young Sheldon." She appeared on one "Mom" episode in 2017. 

Briana Cuoco' continued to add to her acting resume after her stint on "The Newsroom" in 2012. She went on to play Mary Bennett on a web series called "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" and its short-lived spin-off, "The Lydia Bennet!!" While she was only on one episode of "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries," she did appear in 14 episodes of its offshoot. 

After scoring guest roles on hit shows like "The Mentalist," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "Criminal Minds," and "The Bold and the Beautiful," Briana was cast as Cecilia on HBO Max's original dark comedy "The Flight Attendant,' which featured big sister Kaley Cuoco in the lead role. Briana was in a total of four episodes. 

When asked about her real-life dynamic with big sister Kaley at the premiere of "The Flight Attendant" Season 2, Briana told Extra, "She's absolutely one of my best friends in the world. I love her so much and, like, her success and joy and all that stuff only elevates mine."

Briana Cuoco is one of a handful of contestants from "The Voice" who you may not recognize now. She auditioned for "The Voice" Season 5 in 2013 with a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I." Briana made a solid impression and initially joined Christina Aguilera's team, although she was ultimately eliminated during the Knockout Rounds. 

"[Kaley Cuoco is] amazing. She actually, to be honest with you, has been telling me to [audition] for years," Briana told Extra after the audition round. "Since the beginning, she's like, 'You have to go on 'The Voice,' it's the best show, blah blah blah." Briana also gushed about being on Aguilera's team, although she revealed, "I was kind of leaning towards Adam [Levine] and Blake [Shelton]." (Briana later joined Shelton's team.)

While Briana has yet to record a studio album or release any official solo tracks, she's performed here and there over the years. In 2018, for instance, she covered Adele's "Skyfall, which you can watch on YouTube. Briana was also featured on tyDi's 2014 dance song "Untraceable."

In addition to finding success as a choreographer, reality TV contestant, and actor, Briana Cuoco has also tried her hand at entrepreneurship. In 2019, she launched her own clothing brand called Cult. "I've been so blessed to work but the entertainment business is unpredictable and you have little to no control throughout most of it," Cuoco told VoyageLA ahead of Cult's debut. "It's been a long road of development but we are about to finally put out our first few pieces and I could not be more excited." 

In the same interview, Cuoco also acknowledged that her family played an integral part in getting the ball rolling. "The things [my parents] have done for me to continue to pursue acting, singing and getting Cult off the ground is and always be overwhelming and I simply wouldn't have even gotten here if it weren't for them. Same with my sister," she told the outlet. 

There has been some chatter online about the price point of the products featured in the range. For example, a pair of leggings was listed at almost $200 — and that reportedly raised some eyebrows. As of 2026, it's hard to determine Cult's success and whether it still actually exists. The company website listed in Cuoco's VoyageLA interview no longer works, while the brand's official Instagram account was made private at some point. 

Kaley Cuoco, who was previously married to Ryan Sweeting and Karl Cook, has been in a relationship with Tom Pelphrey since 2022.Pelphrey is also an actor whose filmography includes soap operas "Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns." The couple announced Kaley's first pregnancy in October 2022 and her second in June 2026. 

While Kaley and Pelphrey seemingly threw their second baby shower in August 2026 themselves, Briana Cuoco was entirely behind the first. Held in January 2023, the event was reportedly attended by Brad Pitt, Regina King, and Ali Fedotowsky. It also featured tons of horses, balloons, and a drone show. 

Although not baby-related, Briana also threw a surprise 40th birthday party for Kaley in 2025. "[D]on't know how but we managed to surprise [Kaley] with a (very early) birthday hoedown and truthfully??? don't think more fun has ever been had guys!!!" Briana captioned a carousel of photos taken at the event on Instagram. "[W]e love you sister."

While much has been said about Kaley Cuoco's dating history over the years, Briana Cuoco's own dating history has remained relatively private. Briana's only high-profile relationship to date has been with Brian Logan Dales, the lead singer of The Summer Set. 

Briana and Dales first met through mutual friends in 2018, although Dales didn't make a great first impression. "Definitely the most memorable thing about our first meeting is how much I didn't like him," Briana once remarked to Inside Weddings. Nevertheless, Dales eventually won Briana over. They started dating in 2021 and got engaged in September 2023. 

Briana and Dales got married on December 31, 2024, at the Cathedral of St. Vibiana in Los Angeles. Kaley officiated the wedding, while Kaley's daughter, then-1-year-old Matilda, served as flower girl. "[I'm] so grateful for my life," Briana wrote on Instagram for their first anniversary. "it's such a cliché to say to marry your best friend but marry your best friend. walking through the fire together laughing about something stupid makes the ride so much easier."

Briana Cuoco doesn't have any children at the time of writing, but she is a dog mom to Joni, an adorably fluffy Great Pyrenees and poodle mix. Based on Joni's Instagram, she was born in January 2020 and initially adopted by Brian Logan Dales in March of that year, mere days after the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown began in the United States. Dales evidently created an Instagram account for Joni upon her adoption, which Cuoco would go on to co-run. And yes, there have been a number of adorable posts over the years. 

In February 2022, for example, Joni's owners shared some shots of her at what appeared to be a dog meetup and captioned the Instagram post, "Trying my hardest to make some friends but the truth is I'm very shy!" And way back in December 2020, Joni's IG account shared a charming photo of her posing for the camera alongside a hilarious caption: "Hi frens sorry I've been MIA for a while I've been busy eating sticks and becoming a giant." As of this writing, there haven't been any updates to the Joni IG account since 2022.

But fear not, for both Dales and Cuoco still share videos and photos of Joni on their respective Instagram accounts. And it sure looks like Joni's continuing to live her best life. In an August 2026 Instagram post, Joni joined Dales in a video to promote some upcoming performances. "Hey guys, promise I'm not holding my dog hostage. She wants to be here!" Dales quipped. "Unfortunately, Joni won't be [at the shows]. She's too expensive."

While there are a number of more obscure female superheroes you've probably never heard of, Harley Quinn is certainly not one of them (although she's technically an anti-hero). In 2019, an animated series centered around Dr. Harleen Quinzel's alter ego called "Harley Quinn" premiered on DC Universe. It then made its way to HBO Max, and it's called the streaming service home ever since. 

Briana and Kaley Cuoco collaborated once more for "Harley Quinn," which ran for five seasons between 2019 and 2025; at the time of writing, it's unclear whether there will be a "Harley Quinn" Season 6. Briana voices Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl, while Kaley voices the titular character. The series has received glowing reviews over the years, and it's also been nominated for dozens of awards. 

"I love [Batgirl] so much," Briana told ComicBook.com in 2024 ahead of "Harley Quinn" Season 5. "I love how sort of earnest she is and pure and I mean, obviously in this last season she's changed a little bit, but I adore her and I hope I get to go back."

Given that she can sing, act, and dance, it should not come as a surprise that Briana Cuoco has found success in the world of musicals. In 2015 and 2016, Cuoco played Satine in "BAZ: Star-Crossed Love" and several roles in "For the Record: BAZ," two productions based on some of Baz Luhrmann's films. Satine was originally portrayed by Nicole Kidman in Luhrmann's 2001 movie musical "Moulin Rouge!"

Around this time, Cuoco appeared in another production with a completely different premise: she portrayed Lizzie Borden in "Lizzie: The Musical." The show, which is based on the story of Borden, who was infamously accused and then acquitted of murdering her dad and stepmom in the 1890s, premiered in March 2016 at The Mint in Los Angeles. "It's rock, like heavy rock music, which I love singing personally ... and she's so fascinating," Cuoco said of the show to ET. She has also starred in a production of "American Idiot," as well as unauthorized musical parodies of "Mean Girls," "Clueless," and "10 Things I Hate About You."
