Pamela Anderson Broke Her No Makeup Rule To Rock A Red Lip

Pamela Anderson spent most of her life known for her heavy makeup and Hollywood siren style. But in the 2020s, she made a major style change when she decided to say goodbye to her signature look. She started attending red carpets with a bare face, and people everywhere praised her natural beauty. Since then, she's kept up the makeup-free look, although every once in a while she's added a touch of makeup that's made a major impact.

In 2023, she returned to the entertainment industry scene with her transformed look as she attended Paris Fashion Week and started promoting "The Last Showgirl." People quickly got used to the bare-faced version of Anderson. So much so that whenever she chose to add some makeup, in most cases a pop of color on her lips, it was a big surprise. In September 2024, Anderson attended the San Sebastian International Film Festival and did just that. She arrived at the premiere of her film, in which she plays the lead character Shelly. Anderson looked absolutely stunning in a light pink floor-length dress with long sleeves that also extended to the ground. It featured a keyhole cutout at the front fashioned with a diamond-covered clasp.

But what really drew the eye and the attention of fans was her bold red lip. It's a look she's rocked plenty of times in the past, but in this new era of minimal makeup for Anderson, it was a shocking departure from the new normal. Fans loved the makeup choice, with one person writing in response to ExtraTV's update about it, "With that touch of color on the lips, it made her look the most beautiful she has looked." Others replied, calling her a "natural beauty" and saying, "She's prettier now than ever." 

After Pamela Anderson's major style change in 2023, people wanted to know what led to the decision to go au naturel over the heavier glam makeup she used to wear. During an interview with Today.com in late 2023, the "Baywatch" star noted that, as time went on, she became more confident and assured about herself. She said, "I am much more comfortable in my own skin, but I also am in an industry that really focuses on beauty. And I thought, 'I'm going to challenge beauty.'"

But Anderson wasn't just as successful before her beauty revolution. In 2023, only months before her makeup-free first appearance at Paris Fashion Week, she was promoting and celebrating the release of her documentary, "Pamela, A Love Story." And the year before, Anderson earned rave reviews during her Broadway debut in "Chicago" as Roxie Hart. When she decided to rock the makeup-free style at fashion week, Anderson didn't even think anyone would care. She told People in a 2025 interview, "I remember thinking, 'Nobody's even going to notice' — and people noticed." 

The bare-faced looks have definitely put her in the spotlight even more, and fans can't get enough. In fact, people are praising her for starting a movement. Anderson added, "People come to me with their daughters and say, 'Thank you so much for doing this.' I'm glad that it had an impact. Who would have thought I would be that girl?" But fans of her former glam who hope to see her in full makeup again needn't worry. Anderson has already proven that she's game to wear makeup again on occasion, whether it's simply a red lip or a fully done-up style.
