Savannah Guthrie's Daughter Gave A Sassy 6-Word Warning To Travis Kelce
Wasn't it just a hot minute ago (and boy, was it ever hot) when music royalty and football royalty were joined together in holy matrimony as millions waited for a glimpse? Sure, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 2026 wedding wasn't flawless; a few naysayers grumbled about the buffet food-station format of their reception. But most attendees agreed that the "Blank Space" hitmaker and the Kansas City Chiefs star created a heartwarming night to remember. The couple also shows every sign of staying together for the long run, if Kelce's emotional details of their relationship and engagement are any indication. Good thing, too — at least one superfan would have had something to say if this weren't the real deal.
When Tayvis (or is it Swelce?) first began making public appearances together in 2023, it caught the attention of Vale Guthrie Feldman, a devoted Swiftie and the daughter of Savannah Guthrie and her husband, Michael Feldman. "My 9-year-old's talking about it. She's like, 'Is it real, Mom?'" the "Today" host said on the show (via People). Guthrie also disclosed the six-word warning Vale had for the football star: "'He better not break her heart.'" Guthrie added, "My daughter said this morning, 'If he breaks her heart, I'll break him.'"
Vale seemingly wasn't kidding. She's been a fan of Swift's for years, and her mom has been only too happy to encourage her enthusiasm. Also in 2023, Savannah and Vale attended one of Swift's Eras Tour concerts. Just a couple of months later, they both dressed up as the singer for Halloween and showed off their costumes and lip-syncing on the morning show.
These Swifties didn't go to their favorite star's wedding
In addition to Savannah Guthrie and Vale Feldman attending the "Shake It Off" superstar's Eras Tour concert in 2023, they went again in October 2024, joined by Michael Feldman and Guthrie and Michael's other child, Charley Feldman. Guthrie also defended Swift and Travis Kelce's decision to hold their wedding at Madison Square Garden instead of a more romantic location. "When everyone was disbelieving, I actually thought, 'I get it.' Because, well first of all, the privacy, the secrecy, the logistics," she explained on the "Today" show in June 2026 (via The Mirror US). "But also, it's like a major sports arena and a major music arena, and the colliding of those two worlds, I think, there's some poetry there."
Surprisingly, though, Guthrie didn't attend the big day herself. No outlets — including her own "Today" show — reported seeing her there (and she surely wouldn't have been among the worst-dressed celebrities at Swift and Kelce's wedding). It's unclear if Guthrie was invited to America's royal wedding or not, but either way, she's been busy with a new TV job. Guthrie is the host of "Wordle," a TV game show based on the eponymous New York Times puzzle. In July 2026, she said on "Today" that she'd be taking a break from her usual gig to film "Wordle." Additionally, Guthrie is still navigating the personal tragedy of her mother Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping in February 2026.
With Swift seeming to always be working on some new music or projects behind the scenes, perhaps she'll be asked to visit "Today" so Guthrie can get an update on her life and marriage. Fair warning to Travis: If your new wife says you're not treating her right, Vale will make you regret it!
