Kylie Kelce's popularity skyrocketed in 2023, just as her husband Jason Kelce's 13-year NFL career was coming to an end — he retired in 2024. After brothers Jason and Travis Kelce played against each other at the 2023 Super Bowl, Kylie transformed from being a high school field hockey coach to being a celebrity who doesn't care too much for the spotlight. She continued to charm her fans with her personality after launching her podcast, "Not Gonna Lie," in 2024. However, Kelce also managed to upset fans of British royals.

In a September 2026 episode of "Not Gonna Lie,"  Kylie extended an invitation to Catherine, Princess of Wales — who, like Kylie, played field hockey in school. "So, Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids, I don't know," she said. Kylie also pointed out that her husband, William, Prince of Wales, was on the Kelce brothers' "New Heights" podcast in July.

While some fans seemed excited about the possibility, others were unimpressed with how Kylie had addressed the Princess of Wales. "Please don't call her Princess Kate ... It's considered disrespectful to call her Kate," said one in the YouTube comments. Another wrote, "If you want to invite someone—no matter where or for what occasion—you should first know and use their correct name, and in the case of royals, the correct title as well. That is called respect." Kelce apologized for the mishap in the following episode. "I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine 'Princess Kate' was offensive," she explained. "I didn't know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly."

Royal fans told Kelce to fix this habit before hosting Princess Catherine

Kylie Kelce kindly corrected herself after getting confused about Kate Middleton's name, but British royal fans had another bone to pick. Right before she apologized to the Princess of Wales on "Not Gonna Lie," she read a comment that suggested she stop swearing. It said, "Princess Catherine is too refined and beautiful to be subjected to your cursing...you'll need to clean up your act."

Kelce agreed with that statement before clarifying that she's not entitled to a future episode with Catherine, Princess of Wales, nor would she use foul language with her. She asked, "Do I think she has time to hop on this podcast? No, I do not. I don't think that. Would I curse at her face? No." Kylie isn't the only Kelce who loves to swear, though. Her husband Jason Kelce and brother-in-law Travis use so many bad words on "New Heights" that a fan created a swear jar in October 2023. "New Heights" gave the fan a shout-out on X in May 2024, which displayed the swear count. Travis Kelce swore more than 2,000 times while Jason Kelce swore just more than 360 times.

If the Kelce brothers managed to speak to William, Prince of Wales, two years later, it wouldn't be shocking for the Princess of Wales to sit down with Kylie. The most important thing for royals is to keep their composure at all times, and hopefully, the people around them follow suit.
