Pamela Anderson Received $1 Million Divorcing Rick Salomon — Pennies Of His Rumored Wealth
The following article includes mentions of domestic abuse.
Divorce can be a hard experience for anyone, especially celebrities. Whether no one foresaw the famous couple divorcing or everyone thought the celebs were destined for a split, they have millions of eyes on them and their wallets. "Baywatch" actor Pamela Anderson has lived this experience multiple times, starting with her three-year marriage to Tommy Lee in the '90s. The actor later married Kid Rock and filed for divorce a few months later in 2006, but her union with professional poker player Rick Salomon made headlines for financial reasons.
Rick was Anderson's third husband, but the former friends were married twice. They first married in October 2007, but the union was annulled after a few months in March 2008. The former couple remarried in January 2014, lasting a little over a year before Anderson filed for divorce in February 2015. The divorce was finalized for good that April. Anderson received a $1 million settlement, but she had alleged that her ex-husband avoided paying taxes on $40 million in poker earnings during their months-long legal and press battle.
According to VIP-Grinders, Rick's estimated net worth ranges from $20 to $50 million as of writing, and he seems to have sources of income outside of poker. He reportedly came from money, as his father, Robert Jess Salomon, was a former executive vice president at Warner Bros. Rick has also landed minor acting roles since the '90s and produced movies since the early aughts. Additionally, his 2004 sex tape with ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton reportedly earned $10 million the first year it was out.
Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon's marriage and divorce was tumultuous
A tragic detail about Pamela Anderson's life is that some of her past relationships were unhealthy. Despite long-term friendship being a great foundation for love, Anderson and Rick Salomon hit it off on a strange note. The "Baywatch" alum told OK! magazine in 2007 that she owed him $250,000 during a poker game, but he offered a romantic solution. "Rick, being the gentleman, said he would wipe out my debt if I gave him a kiss," she said. "So I have to thank Vegas for our relationship switching gears!" (via The Boston Herald).
Their 2007 marriage soured after two months when she reportedly found a crack pipe hidden inside their Christmas tree. Salomon denied that he did it in an interview with The New York Post, which Anderson complained about in her documentary "Pamela: A Love Story." Although Anderson said they rekindled the connection because of Salomon's sobriety, the former spouses had much bigger issues in their second marriage.
The "Barb Wire" actor filed a restraining order against Salomon before they finalized their divorce in 2015. She alleged that the poker player abused her and hurled vulgar insults at her. Their relationship was so unhealthy that Anderson felt as though it made her look older. She told W Magazine in 2016, "I remember looking in the mirror during filming [the short film 'Connected'] and saying, 'Who is this person? How did I let myself get to this place?'"
