What Patrick Mahomes' Fiancée Just Said About His Super Bowl Loss

All eyes might have been on Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady as they faced off at Super Bowl LV, but the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback and his legendary rival were almost outshone by Mahomes' pregnant fiancée Brittany Matthews. She posted a couple snaps from her private box in Raymond James Stadium on Sunday ahead of the game, in which the personal trainer is proudly, posing while happily cradling her impressive baby bump. Back in October, the first time mother confirmed she was expecting a girl with a fun gender reveal (via Instagram).

The New York Post notes Matthews traveled down to Florida with Mahomes' brother, Jackson, and Kayla Nicole, girlfriend of Chiefs' tight end Travis Kelce. The group appeared to have a lot of fun on the trip down but, once they arrived in Tampa, it was all business. Last year, Nicole posted a sweet celebratory Instagram video of her hugging Kelce following the Chiefs' win, noting "the champ is here." At Super Bowl LV, though, both women were understandably less enthused. Matthews, in particular, is making her feelings about the Chiefs' disappointing loss clear.

Brittany Matthews is proud of her man no matter what

Matthews was critical of the coverage from major news sites including ESPN throughout the game, calling them out for making her man look bad (via Twitter). She even sent a tweet describing them as "trash," via emoji, for one dodgy shot of Mahomes. However, when the game wrapped up with the Buccaneers up 31-9, she took the opportunity to praise Mahomes and the Chiefs for their hard work. "Not how we wanted it to end, but 15 played his heart out and I'm always and forever proud of him in everything he does!" she posted, adding, "Now let's have a baby!"

As ET notes, Matthews is used to supporting Mahomes since the couple has been dating since high school and even attended prom together. They got engaged in September 2020, quickly following the Super Bowl ring ceremony (via Instagram). Even as her bump has grown, the fitness trainer has remained a stalwart supporter of her man and is frequently spotted cheering him on from the sidelines. "Just so dang proud of you," she wrote alongside a shot of them after the Chiefs earned a spot in this year's Super Bowl. Win or lose, Matthews is Mahomes' #1 supporter.
