Everything We Know About Anna Faris' Third Marriage

When Anna Faris and Chris Pratt announced they were divorcing in 2017 after eight years of marriage, fans all over the world declared that love was officially dead. As InStyle notes, the couple kept their statement short and official, simply saying they were "legally separating" and were both very "sad" after trying hard for a long time to make the relationship work. The "Mom" star later opened up about where things went wrong between her and Pratt, telling guest Gwyneth Paltrow during an episode of her hit podcast, "Anna Faris is Unqualified," that "competitiveness" was a major issue. Faris also struggled in her previous marriage to another actor, Ben Indra, due to their competing careers.

"Any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn't handle that very well, I don't think," Faris admitted, adding, "And I hope I've grown from that." The actress was married to Indra from 2004 to 2008. She tied the knot with Pratt the following year, and the couple officially filed for divorce in 2018. They continue to share custody of son Jack, while Pratt has moved on with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. Faris, meanwhile, reassured divorce attorney Laura Wasser, via People, that she still believed in love but was unsure about the concept of marriage.

However, Faris eventually fell hard for cinematographer Michael Barrett, whom she worked with on "Overboard," and the two ended up secretly eloping.

Anna Faris let the news slip on her podcast

Anna Faris made the surprise revelation she'd married her cinematographer fiancé Michael Barrett during an episode of her podcast, "Anna Faris is Unqualified," that aired on July 22. The couple reportedly eloped at a local courthouse in Washington, with Faris casually quipping, "I'm looking around ... my fiancé's right — he's now my husband. Yes, we eloped," while chatting with a caller (via People). She later added, of their big day, "It was awesome, yeah, it was great." The couple was first linked in 2017, around a month after her split from Pratt was made public. They confirmed their engagement in 2020, with Faris joking during an appearance on "The Late Late Show" that host James Corden should officiate, as USA Today reported at the time.

Speaking to People a few months before announcing her elopement, Faris gushed that she and Barrett "had an immediate kind of intimacy" despite both being introverted. The cinematographer, who boasts credits on "Gotti" and TV's "Supergirl" among others, as per IMDb, has two children of his own, which naturally appeals to Faris as a mother. The "Scary Movie" breakout even revealed, "I've really learned a lot about myself through his kids. It's been really rewarding." In fact, the blended family even goes camping together.

So how does Faris feel about her third marriage? As she admitted on her podcast, "I'm sorry, honey. I just blurted that out, but it just feels like I can't say 'fiancé' anymore," suggesting she's clearly thrilled to be a wife again (via E! News).
