Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 5 - Details We Know So Far

WeTV has delivered some of your favorite reality TV series, including "Marriage Boot Camp" and "Bridezillas." However, the number-one reality TV show on WeTV, according to fans on Ranker, is "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta." The reality show, created by Datari Turner, is the second installment in the "Growing Up Hip Hop" franchise.

The show is focused on Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, who returns to Atlanta with hopes of releasing a successful new album after years out of the game. With hip-hop legends Da Brat, Snoop Dogg, and Jermaine Dupri in his corner, along with a natural talent for flow, Bow Wow is determined to push past his personal problems and focus on his music. "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" also follows a group of friends who have roots in the hip-hop community, including Dupri's daughter, Shaniah Mauldin, and DJ Hurricane's daughter, Ayana Fite.

The WeTV series has proven to be popular, but will there be another season?

When is the Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 5 release date?

There was a particularly heated incident in Season 3 of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" when former couple Bow Wow and Kiyomi Leslie Holden had a physical altercation leading to a first-time arrest and a very publicly displayed mugshot for Bow Wow (via YouTube). This event garnered massive media attention, and Season 4 was announced on the heels of the arrest. But is Bow Wow's life enough for WeTV to order a Season 5?

According to Tonights.TV, the answer is, yes, "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" has officially been renewed for another season. You can look forward to watching more of your favorite hip-hop personalities, drama, and ATL hot spots.

While a release date has yet to be announced, fans can stream all past episodes on WeTV while waiting to see what Bow Wow and the crew are up to next.

Who will be in the Season 5 cast?

There have been a number of surprise appearances through the last four seasons of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta," as well as cast members who have come and gone. In Season 3, we were excited to see Waka Flocka and T-Boz, as well as Joann "Buku" Kelly, daughter of R. Kelly, and Eazy-E's daughter, ReeMarkable. We've also seen guest appearances from Jhonni Blaze, Masika Kalysha, and Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae Carter (per The Cinemaholic).

We anticipate seeing Ayana Fite, daughter of the legendary Beastie Boys collaborator DJ Hurricane, back on the show, as well as Jermaine Dupris' daughter, Shaniah Mauldin. However, until the new season drops, we can't be sure about who will appear in Season 5.

We'll also hazard a guess that Da Brat and Bow Wow will continue to be major players in Season 5, but fans are wondering which other famous faces will grace the ATL.

What else will we see in Season 5 of Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta?

The past four seasons of "Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta" have been riddled with drama but also with music, romance, and friendships.

In Season 5, we may see more of Da Brat's romance with Judy, but you can also watch more about that love affair in the new spin-off, "Da Brat Loves Judy." Waka and Tammy also have their own spin-off, "Waka & Tammy: What the Flocka" and we can't be sure we will see more or less of them in Season 5. We could potentially see Ayana deal with the health effects of COVID-19, too.

While we aren't sure exactly what Season 5 will bring, we know that Bow Wow's turbulent life keeps us on our toes. And the hip-hop legends who pop in and out of the show offer even more entertainment. The ATL is vibrant with talent both old and new, and we look forward to seeing all of it in the next batch of episodes.
