Did Tayshia Adams And Zac Clark Call Off Their Engagement?

There's no guarantee that you'll find true love if you wind up competing on "The Bachelor" or "The Bachelorette." Even if you make it to the final rose, a Bachelor Nation relationship doesn't necessarily end in a happily ever after situation most of the time.

Just looking at statistics from "The Bachelor," the show's success rate is abysmally low. How bad is it? According to Distractify, only two couples are currently still together. That includes Season 17 lovers Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici and this year's Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell. The latter relationship has had several bumps in the road, scandals, and at least one public breakup after their season aired, too (via US Weekly).

What's more, approximately 55 percent of men who appeared on "The Bachelor" are still bachelors. The average length of a relationship that starts on the show is around 9.2 months, and the majority have fizzled out well before then. Wasn't the point of the franchise to find a love that lasts?

Sadly, couples who end up together on "The Bachelorette" don't have a much higher success rate. The most recent couple to come from the show — Season 17's Katie Thurston and her man Blake Moynes — split in October of 2021 (via US Weekly). Season 16's Clare Crawley and Dale Moss didn't make it, either (via Page Six). For a while, it looked like Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark from the same season were going to go the distance. Did they?

Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark called it quits

Clare Crawley and Tayshia Adams' season of "The Bachelorette" was an unexpected and wild ride. Five episodes in, Crawley made the unprecedented move of declaring Dale Moss her one true love and ending her run on the show early (via Bustle). That's when Adams came into play for the remaining contestants who were disappointed to lose out on a shot at winning a Bachelorette's heart.

Of course, she was no stranger to the franchise. Before saving the day on "The Bachelorette," the phlebotomist competed on a season of "The Bachelor" and a season of "Bachelor in Paradise" (via Marie Claire). She and Zac Clark discovered and fostered a spark while on the show. Clark told us he was "struck by her beauty" immediately and head over heels in love with her by their third episode together.

After a couple whirlwind dates, the couple ended the show together and were planning a wedding. As recently as April of this year they were putting together plans for their nuptials (via US Weekly). They'll never get a chance to exchange "I dos" now, though. On November 22, Adams released a statement to People confirming the end of their relationship. No, they didn't simply postpone the wedding, either.

"Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark are no longer a couple," a rep for Clark told the publication. They confirmed the news with Page Six, making their relationship the latest failed Bachelor Nation love story.

Tayshia Adams was spotted out without her engagement ring before confirming the breakup

As you can see from the photo above, Tayshia Adams was not shy about flashing her engagement ring at events. That means it was extra obvious when she wasn't wearing it. The Bachelor Nation star raised eyebrows when she showed up solo to a "House of Gucci" premiere and wasn't wearing her engagement ring this month (via Page Six).

Adams previously incited controversy after she was spotted out and about without her ring on earlier in the year (via People). She addressed the situation on her Instagram story back in March and explained that she'd taken the precious piece of jewelry to be resized as it was too big and moving around on her finger. "Everything is good," she promised at the time. "Thank you so much for being concerned, but we're good."

It's currently unclear exactly what went wrong in Adams' relationship with Zac Clark. An anonymous source told Page Six that things simply didn't work out. "They both felt the pressure of navigating a public relationship, but in different ways," the source explained. "It really started to wear on them each as individuals." The source added that they drifted apart and realized that they were simply not compatible on the romance front.

Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark seemed happy together at the start of November

We all know that it's impossible to know exactly what is going on behind closed doors in any relationship. However, the news of Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark's failed engagement is particularly surprising based on their social media activity this month. For example, the pair appeared happily in love when they shared celebratory posts about running the TCS New York City Marathon together.

"I will be forever grateful to have had a front row seat to her performance yesterday, as will the thousands of others who cheered her along the way," Clark gushed about his ex-fiancée on Instagram. "She is allergic to excuses. She could have bailed at anytime in the past four months, her PR team would have handled it, but that is just not who she is. She said she was going to do something and she did it." Adams posted an equally thoughtful message and thanked Clark "for running with me every step of the way" (via Instagram).

Despite the sweet messages, Page Six noted that Adams seemingly did take a swipe at her failed relationship on the 'Gram. They reported that she liked a post from @thegoodquote that read, "Finally I realized that I was never asking for too much. I was just asking for the wrong person." Was that a reference to Clark? We don't know for sure at the moment. Hopefully time will tell.
