Van Jones Has Exciting Baby News, But The Details Might Surprise You

In 2021, CNN star Van Jones found himself in the position of being an unlikely tabloid staple when shocking stories circulated that he was dating long-time friend Kim Kardashian. The political commentator notably assisted the reality star with her legal studies and, following Kardashian's high-profile divorce from Kanye West, rumors began swirling that the two were fast becoming more than friends.

Sadly, Jones shot down the stories in a chat with Page Six, admitting, "I never made any comments about the rumors of me and Kim Kardashian dating as I found it absurd." He added, "It was flattering for me, but it probably wasn't flattering for her." Jones, who's been a fixture on CNN since 2013, is making strides in his personal life, however, chiefly by becoming a father for the third time.

But the happy news has a twist that you likely won't see coming — and no, it's nothing to do with Kardashian.

Van Jones welcomed a child with his close friend

TMZ reports Van Jones has become a father once again, and his arrangement with the mother takes the concept of modern parenting to a whole other level. As Jones explained, "After the COVID lockdown, I got clear that I wanted another kid. I discovered that my friend Noemi also wanted a baby. So, we decided to join forces and become conscious co-parents." The political commentator added, "It's a concept that I hope more people will explore and consider."

Jones and Noemi, whose full name is Noemi Zamacona, welcomed their baby girl in early February 2021. Moving forward, they will actively raise her together despite not being romantically involved. The new parents are thrilled with their little bundle of joy, whose name has yet to be revealed, with Jones enthusing, "This is a special time for our families. I feel grateful, joyful and blessed."

Similar to rumored girlfriend Kim Kardashian, Jones and Zamacona bonded over their passion for criminal justice advocacy. They've been friends for several years and made the decision to become parents while out to eat one day. As an insider put it, theirs is "a very modern arrangement. They're not a couple, but they are a team that wants to raise a kid together."

This is Zamacona's first child, while Jones shares two with his ex-wife. In a statement, the activist shared, "As we create a safe and loving environment for this blessed young soul, I respectfully ask for privacy."
