Lara Trump's Mar-A-Lago Makeup Backfires In Weird Video That Has Everyone Worried About Her Eyes

We are a little over one week from Halloween, but apparently nobody told Lara Trump's eye makeup that it's not time to get spooky yet. Eric Trump's wife made fun of the left in a video posted on Instagram by claiming that she was only joking about performing in Turning Point USA's upcoming "All-American Halftime Show," which is counter-programming for Bad Bunny's divisive Super Bowl halftime show. "I have not been asked in any formal way to perform," she clarified. And it's probably a good thing she's not taking her cosmetics game to a larger stage, forcing more eyeballs and ears to argue over which is worse: her singing or her bizarrely heavy eyeshadow. The latter is a bit out there, to say the least. 

This Halloween-came-early beauty look, coupled with the Mar-a-Lago face trend, aren't doing Lara any favors (her eyebrow game was on point, though). On Instagram, one of her followers blunted their criticism of her botched makeup with a compliment, writing, "Are you going for eyes sunk in your head look? You're gorgeous tell your makeup artist to tamp on the breaks [sic] a bit." Many other Instagrammers agreed that Lara's eye sockets looked strange filled in with all that dark eyeshadow, and one person also observed that her false eyelashes appeared to be falling off. When the video made its way to X, a user cheekily wrote, "Either her makeup artist does horror films, or her eyes are sinking into her head."

Of course, this is hardly the first time Lara Trump's makeup has become a talking point for all the wrong reasons. President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law has a history of sporting expired makeup looks and making some of the biggest makeup fails of all the women in his inner circle. However, according to makeup artist Amber Renee, Lara's cosmetic game isn't that bad, especially compared to some of the other women in POTUS's orbit. In fact, the beauty expert exclusively told The List that she has the best makeup in the MAGA universe, pointing out, "Lara just hits the sweet spot: Glam, but approachable. It feels intentional without screaming, 'I'm wearing a lot of makeup.'"

Of course, Lara Trump confidently goes makeup free at the gym or when she's in mom mode. She arguably looks even better bare-faced than she does with the over-the-top eyeshadow she chose for her recent Instagram video. When it comes to makeup, less is more. One person on X compared Lara's latest beauty faux pas to Tim Curry's Dr. Frank-N-Furter from the cult classic, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Both parties went hard on the eyeshadow, making it the first thing people noticed about them.
