Lori Loughlin's Lavish Life May Be On The Line Amid Separation From Husband (Have Mercy!)

No one told Lori Loughlin life was gonna be this way. Wait, wrong sitcom. The "Full House" star made quite a name for herself with the 2019 college admissions scandal, which resulted in both her and her estranged husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, doing months behind bars, as well as paying fines and logging numerous hours of community service.

While Loughlin was able to salvage her soured reputation in her career, jumping from Hallmark to Great American Family, her love life has gone up in flames. Unsurprisingly, Loughlin and Giannulli's part in the scandal played a pivotal role in their failed romance. The duo have separated after 27 years of marriage, but there's a new chapter in their very toxic story.

Giannulli is worth $80 million, thanks to his fashion empire, according to Celebrity Net Worth, but Loughlin isn't likely to get a dime of his money. Per TMZ's sources, Loughlin signed a prenup back in 1997 that made her assets and Giannulli's assets separate entities, something Giannulli reportedly wanted prior to marriage. Assuming this information is accurate and the details of the prenup agreement haven't changed in nearly 30 years, Loughlin isn't going to get much if the couple proceeds to divorce. Although, she is also reportedly worth $80 million, so it's not like she's exactly hurting for money.

There's still a chance the separation is temporary

Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli's type of prenup agreement isn't uncommon, especially when one of the parties is already extremely wealthy. For example, Selena Gomez had husband Benny Blanco sign one to protect the billion-dollar fortune she's earned over the years. While it'd be nice to be able to fully trust your partner, not making efforts to safeguard your livelihood simply isn't a smart business move.

Another source at TMZ explained that although Loughlin and Giannulli have technically separated, the "Full House" star isn't ready to label herself single just yet. Supposedly, Loughlin is biding her time to see how her separation from Giannulli goes. The duo share two daughters together — Isabella Rose and Olivia Jade — who both grew up to look just like their famous mom. The girls are reportedly close with Loughlin, though their parents' separation probably isn't easy to deal with, especially when it's in the public eye.

However, the uncoupling isn't a huge surprise, considering there were many red flags in their relationship. Besides the college admissions scandal taking its toll on the family, Loughlin and Giannulli have battled split rumors before. While it remains to be seen whether the couple will split for good, it's safe to say that Loughlin's lavish lifestyle will likely take a hit if divorce is in their future.
