Rare Times Meghan Markle Shared Snippets Of Archie & Lilibet's Voices (& Their Changing Accents)

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex ended their American adventure when they moved from California back to Britain in August 2026. After settling in and unpacking, the couple, along with their children, are enjoying their new home by spending evenings by the fire, fishing, and walking the trails. To celebrate the change of scenery, Meghan Markle posted a video on Instagram, giving fans a look into all the things they have been doing. But sharp-eared viewers also picked up something special: a quick snippet of Prince Archie talking. 

In the short video, the young prince can be heard just before Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" starts playing. In the moment, Princess Lilibet can be seen riding her bike as a large herd of deer runs up ahead. Prince Archie then enters the frame, running toward the deer, calling out "Go! Go!" in a British accent, which is surprising. It wasn't that long ago that Archie had an American accent, hilariously stating "I've got a dirty foot, mama" in "Harry & Meghan."

This isn't the first time Archie's voice has made a guest appearance in one of his mom's Instagram videos. He and his sister can be heard in a touching tribute Markle made for her dog, Guy, in 2025. And Lilibet got to be the star of a reel (saved by Entertainment Tonight) in April 2026 when she could be heard playing with chickens and calling out, "Mom, I got another gray one!" A few months earlier, Lilibet made a quick cameo (saved by E! News) in another chicken video where her voice can be heard as she reaches down to pet the birds.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have worked to keep their children out of the spotlight. While Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet may appear in photos or videos the couple shares, the camera is almost always behind the siblings, never showing their faces. The couple famously left their children off their 2023 Christmas card. Archie and Lilibet did appear on the 2024 card, but their faces did not.

The couple's reluctance to parade their children in front of the press is understandable. The Duke of Sussex has had a long and, at times, contentious relationship with the media going back to his own childhood. The couple even sued a group of photographers who tried to snap photos of baby Archie in 2020, stating (per ABC News) "Some paparazzi and media outlets have flown drones a mere 20 feet above the house." 

Markle also takes keeping her children's lives private seriously and, in 2022, the mother of two discussed the issues she would have if she raised her children in the UK with The Cut. The former "Suits" star pointed out that dropping off and picking up Archie at school each day would be chaos as the press would be there to get as many photos of the young prince as they could: "Sorry, I have a problem with that. That doesn't make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child." Now that the family has moved back to Britain, trying to keep their children out of view of the UK press will become more difficult.
