Former Bachelor Ben Sounds Off On Clare And Dale's Split

Ben Higgins knows a thing or two about finding love on TV. Although he is now engaged to a woman he did not meet on a reality show, Higgins was The Bachelor's season 20 star (via Us Weekly). Now the 31-year-old, whose fiancée Jessica Clarke has not watched his Bachelor journey, has some opinions about how things ended between The Bachelorette's Clare Crawley and Dale Moss (via People).

You'll recall Crawley and Moss enjoyed a whirlwind romance on the ABC show, supposedly falling in love within weeks, and deciding to spend the rest of their lives together. The couple's courtship was so fast, fans even speculated they knew one another before the show. But the lovebirds denied this rumor, and seemingly defended their relationship at every turn. Until Moss reportedly shocked his bride-to-be by announcing on Instagram that they had gone their separate ways, writing in part, "We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time."

It turns out there was no "we," with Crawley noting via her own Instagram she was not a part of the "mutual statement" put out by Moss. It's Crawley's version of the breakup is what has Higgins upset.

Ben Higgins is not a fan of how Dale ended his relationship with Clare

Higgins spoke to Access Hollywood about The Bachelorette breakup that stunned the world this week. "That she found out they were parting ways when everybody else did, I think that's completely inappropriate on his part. I think it's so wrong that that's the way this went down," the newly engaged former Bachelor said (via Us Weekly). He added, "I don't know the behind-the-scenes and why they split, but there's nothing that could bring it up to a place where she would be blindsided publicly and have to respond publicly without knowing where they stood."

It's worth noting that Higgins proposed to Lauren Bushnell, who is now married to country star Chris Lane and expecting her first child, on his season of the show (via E! Online). The two would end their romance publicly during the filming of a spinoff show called Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After? But it seems the exes released a real joint statement to announce their split.
