What The Real Life Partners Of These Peloton Instructors Look Like

Fans of Peloton are pretty obsessed with the brand's exercise bicycles and classes... and they're also pretty obsessed with Peloton instructors and their personal lives. On one hand, it makes sense: Each day, thousands of people virtually invite these instructors into their lives when they sign on to take a class. It's only natural to be a little curious about what the instructors are like offscreen, even down to who they spend time with.

Peloton has 33 instructors who teach classes around the world through its app, and the company's hiring process for instructors is pretty rigorous. As the company states on its site, "Peloton instructors across the board have that special ability to transcend the workout and get right into your head with you, no matter what you're experiencing."  In other words: Peloton hires people who are engaging and who know how to reach out through a screen and make the experience personal. People like that are bound to be living pretty exceptional lives.

Here's a look at four Peloton instructors and the special people they spend their off time with.

Robin Arzón and Drew Butler

Robin Arzón is the vice-president and head instructor at Peloton, and she's been married to her husband, Drew Butler, since February 2019. The pair welcomed their first child, daughter Athena Amelia, on March 2, 2021, and released a statement to People confirming her birth. "My husband Drew and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our first child, Athena Amelia Arzón-Butler. From the moment we found out we were expecting, we felt so connected to her — like we knew her before in a past life."

Arzón and Butler met in 2016 at a speakeasy in New York and have been together ever since. They hosted a four-day wedding that was described as immersive; The Knot reported they wanted the experience "to have all the spirituality of Burning Man, combined with the tranquility of their natural surroundings, punctuated with great songs and music mixes to get their guests groovin' on the dance floor."

Emma Lovewell and her boyfriend Dave

Emma Lovewell was hired by Peloton in May 2017. She's been pretty quiet about her romantic life, but chose Valentine's Day 2021 to share a photo of herself with her boyfriend, Dave. She captioned the photo, "This is my Valentine. His name is Dave and he's not on IG. He knows the way to my heart (food and plants 🪴 ) and is my support system. He's now an expert Home renovator (my words, not his 😂) and the best cat dad."

It's not entirely clear how long the two have been together, but their relationship predates Emma Lovewell's employment with Peloton. In fact, Dave has already helped Lovewell weather a few particularly challenging times, like her mother's cancer diagnosis in 2016.

In an interview with The Martha's Vineyard Times, the writer notes that both Lovewell and Dave were on hand the moment Lovewell's mother's situation became serious. Lovewell's mother experienced a nosebleed that couldn't be stopped, and that turned out to be cancer. As soon as they heard, "Ms. Lovewell and her boyfriend Dave got in their car the following day and drove to the Island."

Ally Love and Andrew Haynes

Instructor Ally Love has a lot to celebrate this year: not only is her career with Peloton still going strong, she and her longtime boyfriend Andrew Haynes got engaged at the beginning of 2021. Love didn't share too many details about her husband-to-be, but described the proposal as "unexpected and so perfect" (via The Focus).

Since then, Love has opened up quite a bit about her proposal and engagement ring. She told The Knot that Haynes designed the ring himself with help from Danny Mikhay, the president of New York's Luxury Watch Collective, but that the best part of the day happened before he even proposed. "But more importantly, it was that day, the conversation that we had prior to him bringing out the ring and getting on his knee and asking, 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?'"

She also shared that the couple, who have been together for over nine years, had a conversation about engagement rings early on. "I might have alluded to something, but I don't remember exactly. I remember Andrew saying, 'You don't know what you want just yet.' The ring is a symbol of the connection or your love, as a physical representation, and it should reflect the love itself and where you are in life" (via The Knot).

Jess King and Sophia Urista

Jess King and Sophia Urista got engaged in 2020, and the two have always been pretty open when sharing details about their epic love story. The pair have been together for six years, and King has described Urista as "a wonderful, supportive partner" (via Insider). The two host a cooking show together on Instagram called Ooo Mami.

Urista told LADYGUNN Magazine that the last six months of 2020 were particularly powerful for them. In fact, they were so powerful that Urista featured King in the music video for her song "Everything About You" and even proposed to King while shooting the video. Then, she held a screening party for their nearest and dearest so everyone could bask in their love.

"I projected the video onto a white sheet on my best friend's garden terrace wall," Urista explained, "surrounded by a small group of close friends who've witnessed our love grow over the last 6 years and, particularly, the last 6 months. Our 'pod,' if you will. It had been a while since she heard about the song or video so it completely took her by surprise. She was in tears."

Urista also says King has been the inspiration for quite a few of her songs. "She was the inspiration for the 4 songs we wrote so the lyrics were inspired by our relationship. She heard the EP and was moved to tears. A lot of feelings come out in the music that I can't always communicate in real time" (via LADYGUNN).
