Mila Kunis Got Into Acting Much Earlier Than You Thought

It's no secret that Mila Kunis has had a long, successful career as an actress in Hollywood. From her most notable role as Jackie Burkhart on the Fox sitcom That '70s Show (1998-2006) and her starring roles in movies like Bad Moms, Friends With Benefits, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall to her serious roles in films like Black Swan and Blood Ties (via IMDb), Kunis has shown her talents as an actor time and time again. She's even made a name for herself in the voice-over acting world, as she voiced the character of Meg Griffin on Family Guy for more than two decades.

And while Mila Kunis' role on That '70s Show may have skyrocketed her to fame, she actually had a plethora of other acting gigs before her big break. Sure, That '70s Show premiered in the '90s — which honestly seems like another lifetime ago — but Kunis got her start in the business long before the sitcom even aired.

Mila Kunis' first acting credit was in 1994

The Ukraine native landed her first role as "Young Hope" on an episode of Days of Our Lives in 1994. From there, Mila Kunis' career started gaining momentum, and she had guest-starring roles on Hudson Street, Baywatch, Unhappily Ever After, and Walker, Texas Ranger. Kunis then appeared on Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher, 7th Heaven, and two episodes of Get Real (via IMDb).

Four years after her acting debut, Kunis landed the role of Jackie on That '70s Show at just 14 years old — the youngest of the cast — and actually lied about her age to land the gig. "Legally, I was 14. I mean — I told them that I was a little bit older ... I was in ninth grade, so I was pretty 14," Kunis told Jay Leno during an appearance on The Tonight Show in 2012 (via YouTube). "I told them I was gonna be 18, which ... is not technically a lie, 'cause at one point, given all things went right, I was gonna be 18."

Ashton Kutcher, who played her love interest on That '70s Show and is now married to her, admitted that her age was concerning when they starred on the show together. "It was really weird. I was like, 'Isn't this illegal? Like, am I allowed?'" he said of kissing Kunis while appearing on an episode of The Howard Stern Show in 2017. "It was really awkward, cause I'm like a 19-year-old kid ... She was 14! She was like my little sister. I wanted to make sure she was okay."
