The Real Reason Taylor Swift's Boyfriend Joe Alwyn Is Now A Grammy Winner

Taylor Swift has spent years making headlines for her high-profile relationships, many of which were the inspiration for some of her biggest hit songs (via Spin). According to Billboard, Swift has been romantically linked to many celebrities and musicians, including Joe Jonas, Lucas Till, Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, Cory Monteith, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eddie Redmayne, Zac Efron, and Harry Styles. She's also been in more serious relationships, like with musician and producer Calvin Harris, as well as actor Tom Hiddleston. However, Swift's longest public relationship has been with her current boyfriend, Joe Alwyn

ELLE reports that Swift and Alwyn were first linked back in 2016 when they allegedly met at the Met Gala. A few months later they were seen attending the same Kings of Leon concert, which sparked dating rumors. The pair were spotted together multiple times in 2017, although they stayed quiet about their romance until Swift told her fans that her song "Gorgeous" was written about Alwyn. In September 2018, Alwyn spoke publicly about Swift for the first time. However, it was only to reveal that he didn't want to share any personal details of their life together. "I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people ... but I really prefer to talk about work," he stated. The two are still going strong today, and Alwyn even got to share something very special with Swift thanks to their close relationship.

How Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are connected forever

Taylor Swift and her longtime love, Joe Alwyn, seem to share a special bond and there's proof in the fact that the British actor is now a Grammy winner thanks to his chart-topping girlfriend. People magazine reports that Swift's Grammy win earlier this year also earned Alwyn the coveted award for the work that he did on her album, "Folklore." Of course, Alwyn was first credited as Swift's co-writer under the pseudonym William Bowery. However, fans recently noticed the actor's name added to the list of Grammy recipients. (He now has his own Grammy.com page.)

Swift admitted that Bowery was Alwyn during her "Folklore" documentary on Disney+. "There's been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity because it's not a real person. So William Bowery is Joe, as we know," Swift confessed.

During Swift's Grammy acceptance speech back in March, she shouted out her beau, revealing that he's the first person to hear and give her input on all of her new songs. "Joe is the first person that I play every single song that I write, and I had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine," the singer stated. With her most recent Grammy win in the album of the year category, Swift made history as the first woman to ever take home the award three times. She previously won the category in 2010 for her fan-favorite album "Fearless" and again in 2016 for her fifth album, "1989," per CBS News.
