Kieran Culkin Reveals Why He Hasn't Met Brother Macaulay's Baby Yet

Can you believe that Macaulay Culkin, the iconic child star from everyone's favorite Christmas film, "Home Alone," is 41 years old now? And it doesn't end there — he's a father, too. Culkin and girlfriend Brenda Song first met back in 2017 on the set of "Changeland" in Thailand, which director Seth Green later commented was a relationship that he "didn't see ... coming," per Esquire. Speculations of the actors being a couple began to circulate in summer 2017 when photos of them getting dinner in Los Angeles together began to surface, followed by a romantic date in Paris later that year (via Insider). While the public may echo Green's opinion of Song and Culkin being an especially unexpected couple, according to the "Suite Life of Zack and Cody" star, herself, they were fundamentally very similar due to their experiences as being young stars. "Child actors, we don't even get to talk about it, you just look each other in the eye and you nod and we know," Song told Entertainment Tonight in 2019.

News of Culkin and Song being parents should really come as no surprise to us, as Culkin quite literally foreshadowed the exciting life event during an appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" in 2018. "This one's a good one, so I'm probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit," Culkin teased, saying they've been "practicing."

Well, they say practice makes perfect — which is exactly why they were "overjoyed" to announce the birth of their first child in April 2021 (via USA Today).

The pandemic has made it difficult for the brothers to get together

Baby Dakota Song Culkin weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was the first child for both Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song (via Esquire). He was named after Macaulay's sister who died in 2008 after being struck by a car, per the Daily Mail. On October 12, 2021 at the "Succession" Season 3 premiere event in New York City, brother Kieran Culkin talked all about the birth of his new nephew. He revealed his disappointment, as he has thus far been unable to meet baby Dakota.

"I haven't actually met his son yet because he lives in California and there's been work and a pandemic and all that stuff," Kieran told Access. He also shared a nugget of parenting wisdom. "The best advice that someone gave me when I became a new parent was don't take anyone's advice, you'll figure it out," he said. Kieran and wife Jazz Charton have two children, daughter Kinsey Sioux, 2, and a newborn son, who is 8 weeks old as of publication.
