Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Snubbed An Important Chiefs Member From Their Wedding

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding was inevitably going to be the kind of event that kept the rumor mill churning for years. In fact, since the massive, July 3, 2026, ceremony at Madison Square Garden, the guest list alone has made more headlines than many stars manage in their entire careers. From the worst-dressed celebrities at Kelce and Swift's wedding to the online feuds that raged about "Champagnegate," the internet has combed through it all. Those with close ties to the couple were in attendance — an impressive roster that included Selena Gomez, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Brad Pitt, Gigi Hadid, and dozens of other celebrities. And yet, one person surprisingly didn't make the cut: The co-owner of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dan Hunt, one of the four siblings who have a stake in the team, confirmed in an interview with CBS News Texas that he never got the invite. "Apparently, I don't sing well enough to get invited," Dan joked. The subject wasn't a new one for him; by Dan's own account, he'd been addressing it non-stop all summer. And he was good-humored about it too, especially since Dan's brother, Chiefs CEO and chairman Clark Hunt, was invited and made the trip with his wife Tavia and their two children. If other members of the Hunt family being invited gave the snub any extra sting, Dan wasn't showing it. His second-hand account, courtesy of what Clark told him later, included two descriptions — "really special" and "really unique" — which lined up with the tight-lipped reviews from the other attendees. Kylie Kelce summed up Swift and Kelce's wedding in one simple word, "incredible," and many others reached for similar verdicts. 

A reported 1,000 guests packed into Madison Square Garden to bear witness to the decade's most anticipated "I dos." Adam Sandler officiated, and Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks were the A-list performers who took the stage at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding reception. The venue managed to pull from the worlds of Hollywood, music, and the NFL in equal measure, and guests even left with expensive raffle winnings like Cartier watches and designer handbags. All in all, it was not an event to be missed, and since that fateful July night, several celebrities have been sharing their best stories from Swift and Kelce's wedding. Those who weren't there have been just as vocal about why, too. There were celebs we didn't expect to see at Swift and Kelce's wedding, and there were absences we assumed meant a snub until the person in question set the record straight. 

Athlete Charles Barkley confirmed that he was asked and passed, while Ryan Seacrest initially said yes, but then dropped out to host Disney's Fourth of July 250 special broadcast instead. Other famous names that were invited and couldn't make it included Robert Pattinson, who had to work, and James Taylor. There were also people like Dan Hunt, who never made the list in the first place despite his own brother being in attendance. The man took it in stride, though. Beyond his Chiefs stake, Hunt is also vice president of FC Dallas — the family's Major League soccer club — and, almost in the same breath, he floated the idea of getting the couple out to a match, calling Kelce "one of the most fun individuals I've ever been around in my life," (via Instagram). Snub or not, there's no bad blood.
