Meet The Real-Life Kids Of The Frasier Cast

Frasier may not have known what to do with tossed salads and scrambled eggs, but fans certainly had an entertaining time watching him try in the NBC sitcom "Frasier" during its 11-season run. The "Cheers" spin-off series followed Dr. Crane Frasier's return from Boston to his hometown of Seattle, where everyone knew his name. For over two decades, beginning in 1993, fans tuned in to watch new episodes of the sitcom that featured radio therapist Dr. Frasier, played by actor Kelsey Grammer, as the main character. The show followed Frasier's life with his father, Martin, his dad's physical therapist and housekeeper, Daphne Moon, and Martin's adorable dog, Eddie, who all lived in Frasier's luxury apartment. 

In an episode of the show, Frasier says (via IMDb), "You don't just love your children. You fall in love with them." Grammer's character has only one son, Freddy Crane, who lives across the country, but in real life, the star of "Frasier" has fallen in love with his eight children; many of his co-stars became parents during or after the sitcom ended in 2004 as well. The comedy series was revived nearly two decades later in 2023, and by then, the main character and much of the cast's lives had changed to include children. Meet the real-life kids of the "Frasier" cast and find out how their parents' fame influenced them over the two decades since the sitcom ended its original run.

Kelsey Grammer already had seven children with different women when he became a father again at 70 with his youngest child, Aaron Palm Christopher Elijah Grammer, born in late October 2025. As of 2026, the titular character of "Frasier" is one of those celebs with eight or more kids, some of whom live in different cities from their father. The Grammer children are Spencer, Greer, Mason, Jude, Faith, Gabriel, James, and Christopher, many of whom go by their middle names. 

Grammer first became a dad in 1983, and over four decades later, he welcomed his youngest child with his wife, Kayte Walsh, with whom he has his last four kids. The youngest Grammer child was largely kept out of the spotlight for the first year of his life, but his dad showed a glimpse of him on "Extra TV." During the interview, the actor revealed he has more free time to spend with the newborn, adding, "The real key though is just cherish it [the early years of parenthood], and it's irreplaceable."

Dr. Frasier had a somewhat strained relationship with his son, Freddy, in "Frasier," and in real life, the actor who played Frasier did not have the easiest relationship with his older children either. Kelsey Grammer shares one daughter with ex-wife Doreen Alderman, Spencer Grammer, and another, Kandace "Greer" Grammer, with ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner. Much of their childhood was spent away from their dad. In an interview with People, the father of eight acknowledged, "I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two." Grammer continued, "I'm trying to make up for a little of it now."

Greer was estranged from her father for 12 years after her parents split up, but they have since reconnected. Greer has transformed not only in her relationship with her dad but in her career as well. Although television partially took Greer and Spencer's father away from them growing up, they were still deeply influenced by his profession as an actor and decided to pursue it as well. They now work in television; Greer is known for her role in "Awkward" and was in the rebooted "Frasier." Spencer, who first appeared on screen alongside her dad in an episode of "Cheers," is best known for her role as Summer in "Rick and Morty." Spencer is now a parent, and her father regularly hangs out with his daughter and grandson.

With over a four-decade-long career in Hollywood, Kelsey Grammer is no stranger to fame, and neither are his oldest children. The star of "Frasier" had two children via surrogacy with his ex-wife, former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" (RHOBH) cast member Camille Grammer: Mason and Jude Grammer. Not only did Mason and Jude grow up with famous parents, but they also experienced television fame, as they were occasionally featured in episodes of RHOBH. As their mom said in her tagline from Season 1 (via Real Taglines): "It's time for me to come out of my husband's shadow and shine." Now Mason and Jude are all grown up, and when the time came for them to leave both their parents' shadows, they shone as well.

Grammer's daughter Mason grew up to be gorgeous and smart; she graduated from Emerson College in Boston in 2024 and now models for publications like Harper's Bazaar. In early 2026, it was confirmed that Mason would join the same network she grew up on, Bravo, in "Next Gen LA" and become a reality star like her mother. Jude partially followed in his older sister's footsteps when he traded the West Coast for the East Coast and attended Emerson, where he performed in a comedy troupe with his sister. Jude takes after his famous father in looks and interests; in 2018, his mom revealed that their son wanted to go into television.

In the summer of 2012, Kelsey Grammer and his fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, welcomed their first child together: Faith Evangeline Elisa Grammer. While some parents start bank accounts or scrapbooks for their children, the "Frasier" star decided to honor his youngest daughter in a more unique way: He founded a brewery and named it Faith American Brewery. The actor told Fox News that the brewery's location and name are personal to him. "I used to spend Thanksgiving in this area when I was a kid with my granddad, so it's a special place for me," he explained.

Grammer purchased land in the Catskills in upstate New York over two decades ago, and in 2015 he opened his brewery there. The name of his microbrew, Faith American, combines his love for his religious faith, his daughter, and his country. Like her younger siblings, Faith is not often spotted in public. However, like her older siblings, her dad's celebrity status has influenced her life and gotten her invited to events normal teenagers may not even know exist. 

In 2025, the teenager accompanied her dad to the Kennedy Center Honors Medallion reception and the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in Washington, D.C. Although her father did not win an award that night, it was a perfect bonding opportunity for the father and daughter, whose one-on-one time may be limited since Faith has three younger siblings as well.

It is not always easy for children to comprehend their parents' lives outside the family, even if they lead lavish lives. To Grammer and Kayte Walsh's sons, he was simply "Dad," so when the "Frasier" alum was recognized in public, two of his youngest sons, Kelsey Gabriel Elias Grammer and Auden James Ellis Grammer (who goes by his middle name), would be confused about why people knew him.

The actor revealed in a 2025 interview with E! News that his youngest kids are often confused when fans recognize him in Hollywood. "The kids are like, 'What's going on?'" the father of eight said. Eventually, when they were old enough to understand, they found their dad's fame cool. While they may not be impressed by his recognition or the sitcoms he is known for, Gabriel and James were in awe that their dad played Beast in "X-Men."  

When Gabriel was born in 2014, his parents decided almost immediately that they wanted another child, and James, who was named after singer James Taylor, was born two years later. Like Grammer's other children with his fourth wife, Gabriel and James are purposefully kept out of the spotlight for privacy.

Although actor Jane Leeves is now well known for her role as housekeeper and physical therapist Daphne Moon in "Frasier," she was almost passed over. There was initial hesitation to hire Jane Leeves on Kelsey Grammer's part since he worried that hiring an English actor would make the sitcom feel too similar to the British show "Nanny and the Professor." Thankfully, Grammer quickly changed his mind, and Leeves was cast. During her time on the hit NBC show, the actor was pregnant twice, and rather than try to hide her baby bumps, the show included her pregnancy weight gain in the storyline.

Leeves shares two kids with her husband, Marshall Coben: Isabella Kathryn Coben and Finn William Coben. Her friend and co-star Peri Gilpin was present in 2001 for the birth of Leeves' first child, Isabella, and became her godmother. Like the other real-life kids of the "Frasier" cast, Isabella was influenced by her mom's career and celebrity status. Isabella not only attended television premieres with her mother, but in 2026 they also co-wrote a book: "Daphne & Me: My Life on Frasier (And a Bit More)." Leeves' youngest, Finn, born in 2003, attended Emerson College, where he studied media and played on the tennis team. 

Like many of the cast of "Frasier," the actor who played Roz Doyle became a parent. Peri Gilpin's life changed completely the week before "Frasier" ended when she and her husband, artist Christian Vincent, welcomed twin girls via surrogacy on May 7, 2004. After being named godmother to her former co-star Jane Leeves' daughter, Isabella Cohen, Gilpin returned the favor by making Leeves godmother to her daughter Stella. 

While Gilpin was understandably overwhelmed by two major life changes so close together, Ava Oldham Vincent and Stella May Oldham Vincent grew up quickly. In 2026, Stella graduated from California Polytechnic State University, while her twin sister graduated from the University of California, Davis. 

In an interview with People, the mom of two described how her daughters became interested in her work over a decade after "Frasier" ended. "One of my kids was home for Spring Break and she brought four girls home with her, and they were sitting on the couch watching 'Frasier,'" Gilpin revealed. "And I couldn't believe it. Proud mom." Although Ava is a graphic designer, she still followed in her mom's footsteps when she dipped a toe in the entertainment industry in 2025 — Ava and Gilpin signed on to be part of the production team for "Jo: The Little Women Musical."

Kenny Daly, the radio station manager in "Frasier," had three children in the show and went through an exhausting divorce that affected him so much that he asked his employee, Dr. Frasier Crane, to be his therapist. However, in real life, the actor who played Kenny Daley, Tom McGowan, is happily married to Cathy McGowan, and they have two children: Mark, born in May 1992, and Mary McGowan, born in February 1995. 

McGowan's daughter pursued a career in entertainment like their father but got involved with the theater rather than television. Mary graduated from Syracuse University's drama school in 2017, and five years later, became the associate director for a musical at her alma mater. In 2023, the McGowan family was there in the audience to support Mary on the opening night of the musical she worked on, "How To Dance In Ohio."

Tom's daughter's career in the arts took off after a play at the Soho Playhouse in 2024, and so did her love life shortly after, when she got engaged in May 2026. While Mary has an online presence and regularly posts about her projects, her brother, Mark, prefers a more private life and does not have any known social media.

Actor Saul Rubinek played Donny Douglas in "Frasier," an intense divorce lawyer who was Daphne Moon's temporary love interest in the long-running sitcom. Off-screen, Rubinek had better luck in love and was not left at the altar; instead, he married Elinor Reid. The couple has two children: Sam and Hannah Rubinek. Both of the actor's children followed in their father's footsteps by choosing careers in the arts. 

In 2016, Sam debuted his first full-length play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, "The Roommate," and has continued to work as a playwright. However, Saul and Sam are not the only artistically talented members in the family of four. Saul returned to the screen with another hit show in 2020, and this time, his daughter was by his side. The father-daughter duo worked on the Amazon series "Hunters," which follows Nazi hunters in the '70s, where Hannah played Saul's character's daughter.

In an interview with Starry Mag, Hannah shared the experience of starring alongside her father in the drama-thriller series. "It was really emotional. It was really an extraordinary gift of an experience, partly just to act with my real dad, but also to act in this context." Hannah explained that the subject matter of the show is also personal for her family since her and Sam's grandparents are Holocaust survivors, and their father was born in a refugee camp.
