Experience

As a graduate student and faculty member, Jamie was awarded nine research grants in wellness promotion, exercise science, and indigenous voting. During the pandemic, she had the opportunity to work as a vlogger for a startup app. She covered popular TV shows like "Game of Thrones" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and found that she had a love for analyzing pop culture for the masses. In 2023, Jamie published a feature article on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons in the second edition of the newly founded Oklahoma Women's Journal (OWJ). The OWJ also published her blog on parenting LGBTQ+ youth, and she seeks to connect with other parents who are navigating the LGBTQ+ community with their children. Jamie released her first book of poetry on Amazon in 2023, "Faces: A collection of poems."

Education

Jamie attended the University of Central Oklahoma for a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in wellness management. She studied skincare, makeup application, and Ayurvedic practices at Rizzieri Aveda School in New Jersey. Jamie also completed ABD for a Ph.D. in Health & Human Performance at Oklahoma State University.
